
5 Oct, DHAKA- A High Court division bench in Bangladesh Thursday asked the government to send immediately jailed ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to a public hospital in capital Dhaka for treatment.
The High Court division bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order, also asking the relevant government authorities to form a fresh medical board to examine health condition of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia and commence her treatment at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), a government-run medical university cum hospital.
The High Court bench came up with the order following a writ petition filed by the BNP chairperson on Sept. 9 seeking its directive on the government to send her to a specialised hospital for her treatment.
