Oct 22, Kathmandu (RSS): Matrika Prasad Yadav, Minister for Industries, Commerce and Supplies, reached Geneva on Sunday night leading a Nepali delegation to the world Investment Forum (WIF) 2018. The event is jointly organized by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Government of Switzerland.
Deepak Dhital, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland received the Minister at Geneva International Airport. The Minister is accompanied by Mrs. Yam Kumari Khatiwada, Secretary for Ministry of Industries, Commerce and Supplies.
He is scheduled to address the Ministerial Roundtable: LDCs and Business Executives and deliver the national statement at Ministerial Meeting on Promoting Foreign Investment to Landlocked Least Developing Countries (LLDCs) on 24th and 25th of October respectively.
The World Investment Forum, scheduled to take place on 22-26 October 2018, will bring together 15 Heads of States and Governments, over 50 Ministers and more than 100 CEOs, as well as Senior Executives from the UN and other International Organizations and the Civil Society.
The Minister is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with Mr. Mukhisa Kituyi, Secretary General of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development; Mr. Roberto Azevedo, Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO) and Mr. Francis Gurry, Director General of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) during the course of the conference.
Secretary Mrs. Khatiwada will address an international dialogue on Women for Sustainable Development: Women Economic Empowerment to Transform the Investment and Entrepreneurship Landscape on 25 October.
The delegation is scheduled to return home on October 27.
