29 Jan, Chitwan – Preparations have been completed for the national conference of women journalists scheduled here for January 29-30.
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Women Department is organising the conference from tomorrow at Patihani, the touristic site in the district. As told by FNJ, Chitwan Radheshyam Khatiwada, a total of 200 women journalists across the country will be arriving here to participate in the two-day gathering.
The first-day schedule of the programme includes the interactions with the community/ locals of Patihani and a tour of Patihani which has been in the list of 100 touristic sites indentified by the government recently. The second-day session will be inaugurated by former Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The gathering will go through discussions about the present condition of women journalists and their problems, seeking ways to address them, said FNJ central member Krishna Giri. The FNJ is hopeful that the event would be a guideline to further promote the women’s presence in media and enhance efficiency of women journalists.
Women journalists remaining in leadership level at the FNJ district, associate and institute chapters, province and the centre, those who have already been in the central committee and seniors will be participating in the event.
