10 Feb. Kathmandu – A total of 60 artists are testing their competence in the ongoing ‘Creative Art Festival’ in the central capital Kathmandu. The event is a competitive one, said Internal Watercolor Society Nepal’s Chairperson NB Gurung, one of the members in the jury panel.
The event organised by the Department of Architecture and Other Creative Art Department, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts kicked off at Hanumandhoka on Friday. It is coordinated by the IWSN.
The Department had earlier organised Performance Art Competition and the Cartoon Workshop and Competition.
Artists are doing their best to artistically depict the sculpture related to the Hanumandhoka area, Durbar Square, temple and other heritages in their works.
Artist DB Rai has reflected natural heritages of special importance in the area in his canvas.
The winner of the completion will be announced today itself. The jury panel includes Rameshnath Khanal, NB Gurung and Diram Palpali. The event has provided a platform for artists of both old and new generations for a gathering and to exchange their learning, it is said.
NAFA academician Sushma Rajbhandari spoke of the need of including this type of events in a regular calendar of the NAFA.
