May 31,Biratnagar- The second meeting of the State 1 coordination council has suggested that cooperation between the state and local level should be further strengthened.

At the meeting organised by the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers here today, the participants were of the view that smooth relations and work culture between the state and local levels was needed to prevent the duplication of development projects and plans. Besides, the concept paper of National Planning Commission and drafts of development plans of state and local level should have co-relations to accelerate the pace of development.

Inaugurating the meeting, Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai spoke the need for a clear policy while selecting development plans. The federal government should select big projects, and the state and local level should own up the responsibility of selecting medium and small-scale projects.

More, he asserted that credibility, quality and zero-irregularities should be ensured in the expenditure of infrastructure development budget.
