

7 Dec, Saptari-Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Gajendrabadi) Chairman, Bikash Tiwari, has been holding a hunger strike for the past 15 days demanding reformation in the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital based in Rajbiraj.
The students from various schools and colleges of Rajbiraj on Tuesday took out a solidarity rally with the demands put forth by Tiwari. The rally started from Mahavir Chowk and went around various parts of the city before converging at the spot where Tiwari is holding his fast unto death, a local Mukesh Yadav said.
Tiwari has put forth a plethora of demands that include turning the hospital child-friendly with necessary improvements in the physical infrastructure, availability of enough nutritious food for patients admitted in the hospital, management of clean drinking water, construction of the main entrance gate and availability for specialist doctors including otolaryngologist, cardiologist and radiologist among others.
The agitating leader has also insisted on quickly completing the construction of a building designed to house the maternity services and public display of the list of medicines provided by the government to the hospital.
He has also called for making public the details of the budget and expenditure received for fiscal year 2015-16, investigation into economic irregularities and cost-free treatment for infants up to the age of 28 days. RSS
