9 Jan,Kathmandu: Today’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament endorsed the ‘Internal Work Procedure Related to Direct Question-Answer, 2073 BS’ aiming to directly inform the people about the government activities and thus making the government more accountable to the House.
As per the approved work procedure, the Speaker can fix first two hours on the second Sunday every month for the MPs to directly ask questions to the Prime Minister about activities of the ministries that the government head is looking after and other important issues.
Likewise, the Speaker can set first two hours of the second and third Wednesday every month to ask the government questions over the urgent and sensitive issues.
The question-answer session (that is defined by the working procedure) in the House would be broadcast live on Nepal Television and other mass media.
Likewise, the today’s House session has passed a proposal to send the ‘National Women Commission Bill, 2073 BS’ to the respective committee for clause-wise deliberations.
The proposal was presented at the meeting by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi on behalf of the Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare.
At the meeting, Speaker Onsari Gharti read out letters received from the Office of the President, and the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers informing the House about the bill authentication and appointment of the minister of state respectively.
The Speaker also informed the House about the transfer of members on the Business Advisory Committee. RSS
