A meeting of the Kaski chapter of the Press Chautari Nepal held recently decided to this effect based on the recommendation for the same by the Pratibha selection committee coordinated by senior journalist Badri Binod Pratik.
The award will be given out amid a programme to be held on February 5 to mark the establishment day of Press Chautari Nepal, said Chautari’s Kaski chapter chairman Madhav Baral.
Run by the Chautari’s Kaski chapter, the award carries a cash prize of Rs 11,111. The award is given to a journalist every year for his or her contribution to press freedom, democratic movements and civil rights.
Earlier, journalists Punya Poudel, Madhav Sharma, Nabaraj Subedi, Rudra Bahadur Thapa, Hari Bastola, Badri Binod Pratik, Khem Saru and Durga Bhandari were also honoured with the award. RSS
