The Second SAINO Anniversary was observed on the 16th of Srawan, 2078 ( 31st of July, 2021) through Zoom Meet of more than a hundred Nepali SAINO writers including some English SAINO writers from Nepal and other parts of the world.

The meet was addressed by Keshab Gewali, one of the SAINO initiators, with a short introduction of SAINO and its special features as structure and the underlying relation among the three lines forming the SAINO.

The anniversary was observed on the auspices of SAINO Wangmaya Prathisthan, Nepal and was graced by some renowned Nepali litterateurs like Dr Devi Nepal as the Chief Guest, who is a critic and one of the pillars of present Nepali Poetry, and the Children Literature Wing incharge of the Nepal Academy.

Among the Sepecial Guests were writers and literary critics like Professor Dr Rishiram Sharma, Dr Krishna Prasad Pokhrel, Dr Shadananda Poudyal, Dr Shailenu Prakash Nepal, Dr Yagyeshwor Niraula , Dr Yadunandan Dhakal, etc.

All these literary stalwarts had unanimously appreciated the SAINO poetry’s invention as one of the latest poetical genres of three-lined Nepali micro poetry invented by Chhaya Dutta Nyaupane two years ago . Almost all of them suggested that in course of time SAINO shall be established and recognized by the literary world.

The meet was also addressed , on behalf of Advisory Committee, by SAINO Wangmaya Pratisthan’s Chief Advisor and SAINO inventor Chhya Dutta Nyaupane, in which he expressed his happiness for the joint efforts of all SAINOISTS for the acceleration of SAINO to different parts of the world. He also made special gesture of thanks on the advice provided by the literary critics in course of their valuable addresses, and made a commitment to follow the advice to the extent possible.

The pivotal address of the celebration was of the Chief Guest , Dr Devi Nepal who expressed highly of SAINO, the new genre of Nepali poetry. Dr Nepal, in his eloquent, but inspiring short address appreciated the role of SAINO Wangmaya Pratisthan and even declared that in his capacity of Member of Nepal Academy, he would leave no stone unturned for the publication of a Nepali SAINO Anthology compiled by SAINO Wangmaya Pratisthan, Nepal.

The Chief Guest also expressed his immense pleasure that some SAINOISTS like Khemlal Pokhrel, Arta Akulin, Preeti Atreya and Surendra Shahi composed SAINOS in many languages other than Nepali , i. e. English Hindi, Khasi, Maithili, Sanskrit, Bajurali, Salyani, etc. He also spoke about the role played by Khemlal Pokhrel ( this pen holder ) in course of writing Nepali SAINO; happened to invent English SAINO and thereby internationalized SAINO to different parts of the globe.

The Cief Guest finally pinpointed the recitation of English SAINOS by Mary Lynn Luiz ( USA ), Barbara Ehrentreu ( USA ), Vandana Sudhish ( India ), Sreekala Vijayan ( India ), Dilip Singh ( India ) as a gesture of literary brotherhood. The Second SAINO Anniversary Zoom Meet was conducted by Bal Kumar Chhetri and Shekhar Aryal, the General Secretary and Secretary of the Pratisthan respectively.

This all important meet was presided over by Sita Devi Panthi, the President of the Pratisthan.

Around three dozen Sainoist from the country had recited their valued SAINOS in different languages.

This auspicious occasion was marked by SAINO writing competition in which 84 Sainos were submitted, and after the evaluation of all by a three-member evaluation body of Khemlal Pokhrel, Surendra Shahi and Shanti Deep, basing on Saino structure, independent meaning of the lines of Saino and the final poetic effect , theme and correctness of language; the following Nepali SAINOISTS were honoured by issuing certificates: 1. Basudev Gewali : First 2. Bishnu Dahal : Second 3. Balaram Subedi : Third 4. Shiva Khanal ‘Jiwam’ : Consolation 5. Sita Pande Marasini : Consolation The auspicious occasion was wound up by the Chairperson, Sita Subedi Panthi with her views and vote of thanks to all.
