21 Feb, Palpa- A person from Khasyauli VDC – 1 of Palpa has appealed for economic support so that she can have another turn at life.
Dhan Kumari Dangal, 53, comes from a family reeling under abject poverty and on top of that suffers from kidney failures.
She had raised Rs 500,000 a few months ago but the amount is far from being sufficient for her treatment. This has forced her to issue an appeal to the district-based political parties, civil society and journalists as well as Nepali diaspora abroad for economic support.
Dhan Kumari’s husband, Dol Bahadur Dangal, works as a carpenter and his earning is barely enough to feed a family of six. He is also suffering from health complication, which has made the situation worse for the family, confided Radha Krishna Dangal, a close relative of the family.
Dhan Kumari was diagnosed with both kidney failures on August 30. Since then she has received treatment in Palpa, Bhairahawa and Kathmandu. Doctors have recommended further treatment which her family cannot finance.
The Dangal couple has three daughters and a son. Dhan Kumari has appealed for economic support so that she can live more.
