18, April Pokhara- Stakeholders have urged various political parties running for the May 14 local level elections to make clean environment of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City an issue in their manifestos.
A delegation from four organisations including ‘Cycle City Pokhara’ today visited the party offices of main political parties including Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party and drew their attention to the issue through a memorandum.
The memo also pointed out the need for conserving environment to retain beauty of Pokhara and has demanded the tourist city to be declared as ‘Bicycle City’.
Receiving the memo, Vice President of NC party office, Kaski, Hari Aryal acknowledged the need to conserve environment to protect the beauty of the city.
