19 April, Tilottama (Rupandehi)- The government’s student enrollment campaign being launched under the banner ‘Compulsory free fundamental education our desire’ aims to drawn in 7,000 children in the Rupandehi district alone.
District Education Officer, Tek Bahadur Thapa, shared that the authorities planned to enroll 7,000 children living in rural villages which remain outside the access of schools. He said children living in Dhakghahi, Mainihawa, Padasari among other villages have not been admitted to any school.
A special scholarship programme has also been introduced from this academic year onwards to draw in the children from the backward ethnic groups as Muhasar and Pathatkarkatta.
A total of 10,677 children are studying at the community schools under the Child Development Centre in the district while 23,799 are enrolled at private schools.
