16 May,Rasuwa- The vote counting at Parbati Kunda Village Council has been postponed following a request from the political parties for a recount.
The representatives of the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) and RPP walked out of the venue where the ballot papers were being counted with a demand for a recount, Election Official, Ashok Raj Regmi, shared.
The parties left the venue demanding a recount after the Naya Shakti Nepal stood in the lead with a huge number of votes from Parbati Kunda Village Council 1 and 2.
The vote count was put off at 8 pm and efforts are underway to hold a dialogue, and give continuity to the vote count, Regmi added. Of the total of 2,999 votes cast, the officials are yet to surf through 2,057 ballot papers.
