20 May, Rasuwa, -CPN (UML) Rasuwa has enforced an indefinite strike in Rasuwa calling for legal action against the perpetrator behind Friday’s Khukuri attack.
In a statement signed by UML District Chairman Cornel Lama, the party has demanded action against the culprit.
The party has also called for action against an assistant sub inspector of police of Syafrubeshi Police Station accused of allowing the culprit to escape. The shutdown has affected normal life in Rasuwa.
The police, on the other hand, are intensifying their manhunt for the culprit and have started investigation against ASI Madhu Kant Khadka.
On Friday, a youth attack another youth with Khukuri – a traditional Nepali sword – in Syafrubeshi following which an irate crowd set fire to a motorbike and vandalized the police station.
Phurpu Sagbo Tamang, who was injured in the attack, is currently receiving treatment at the Grande International Hospital in Kathmandu. Meanwhile, another person injured in another attack involving Khukuri at Yarsa area of Naukunda Rural Municipality on Thursday night is also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
