24 June, Ilam CPN (UML) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal has expressed his confidence that the UML would be an ace party after faring the upcoming second phase of local level election.
Addressing the electoral assembly at Salakpur in Rong rural municipality of the Ilam district today, leader Khanal reasoned the incumbent government’s ineptness for the deferral of the election in province no 2.
The June 28 election is being held in 35 districts across province no 1, 5 and 7 while the first phase of election was already conducted in 34 districts across province no 3, 4 and 6 on May 14.
Khanal also believed that the country would make headway for economic prosperity following the upcoming election.
Furthermore, the former Prime Minister believed that the UML would succeed to win over the public of the eastern part of the country as in the western part. “Now no force could prevent UML to be the ace party in the country,” he claimed.
Stating that the public were enthusiastic about the upcoming election, leader Khanal spoke of the need to hold three-tier of elections within January, 2018 for the effective implementation of the new constitution.
Moreover, he also underscored the need to develop Ilam as a touristic spot as he opined that the district has a good potential for tourism.
Khanal pledged that the UML would move ahead with agendas as protecting independence and sovereignty of country, institutional development of democracy, social transformation, a balanced foreign policy and conservation of cultures among others.
