6 august, Kathmandu – Lawmakers, speaking during the special hour session of today’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, have drawn the attention of the government on contemporary issues including reaching relief support to the natural disaster victims.
Lawmaker Karna Bahadur Thapa demanded to reach relief to the victims and shifting their settlements to safer zones. Lawmaker Bharat Bahadur Khadka suggested government to take diplomatic initiative to sort out the recent China-India tussle.
Lawmakers also drew government’s attention to the drowning of four children in an open pit at Garuda in Rautahat.
Lawmakers Dulari Harijan, Sushil Kumar Shrestha, Abhishek Pratap Shah demanded improvement of the deteriorated conditions of roads,which was affecting normal life in various places.
Similarly, lawmakers demanded to pass the Kedar Bhakta Mathema led team prepared report regarding the Medical Education Amendment bill, also to end the fast-unto-death staged by Dr Govinda KC.
Dr KC is on a hunger strike for the past 14 days demanding passage of the bill immediately. Lawmakers, Shyam Shrestha, Lokmani Dhakal, Rukmini Chaudhary, Kamal Prasad Pangeni, Hari Charan Shah, Yashoda Kumari expressed their views in the meeting.
