15 Aug, Ahale (Gorkha)-A five-day free health camp jointly organised by the Nepalese Army (NA) and US Army is underway on the premises of Ahale-based Saraswoti Higher Secondary School in Gorkha Municipality-8 since yesterday.
A joint medical team comprising 11 doctors within the NA and 31 from the US Army are there to see service seekers in the camp targeted to the people of Gorkha affected by the ‘2015 April (Gorkha) Earthquake’.
According to the NA Gorkha-based Ranasingh Dal Battalion, health checkup and treatment facilities for childhood, skin, sexual and eye diseases and dental problems are available in the camp. On the first day, over 200 people most suffering from eye and dental problems and flu visited the camp. All services including ticket and treatment are free, as stated by NA Lieutenant Colonel Dr Anil Kumar Singh.
Meanwhile, funds collected through the sale of entry tickets during the recent three-day festival organised here on the occasion of upcoming Teej Festival is to be donated to flood victims in the Tarai, it is said. The event jointly organised by Gorkha Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Women Entrepreneurship Development Committee, Gorkha.
