Aug 22,Kathmandu : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is embarking on a five-day State visit (from 23 to 27 Aug) to India Wednesday morning.
At the cordial invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Deuba is leading a 48-member high level delegation including his spouse and lawmaker Dr Arzu Rana Deuba.
PM Deuba will be staying at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi as the State Guest of the Government of India.
The entourage of the PM comprises Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara and other Ministers, Members of Parliament, Secretaries and other high-level officials of the government.
On August 24, PM Deuba is scheduled to attend the Ceremonial Reception and inspect a Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. He will then pay homage to late Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial in Rajghat.
On the same day, the PM pays separate calls on India’s President Ram Nath Kovind, and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. He is holding the official meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
Moreover, the Indian PM will host a Banquet Lunch in honour of Prime Minister Deuba and his delegation. Some senior Cabinet members of the Indian government will call on PM Deuba.
The PM is scheduled to attend a reception hosted in his honour by the Ambassador of Nepal to India and have a separate interaction with the Nepali community. He also interacts with intellectual circle and business community in New Delhi during the visit.
During the visit, the PM will also visit Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar states of India. The Prime Minister is scheduled to return home on 27 August. RSS
