8 Sept, Baitadi : A woman died after she fell off a cliff at Munnalek of Sigas rural municipality-8 in Baitadi district on Thursday.

The deceased is 32-year-old Parbati Awasthi of Shivalinga, Sigas rural municipality. She was cutting grass for livestock when she accidentally fell off the cliff. She died on the spot after the fall, said Gange Airee, a local eyewitness.
Meanwhile, a dead body of a man was found floating in the Chameliya river at Karkale, Dobhan in Dilasaini rural municipality of the district. The body looks like that of a person of around 25 years of age.
Since a half-burnt dagbatti (cotton wick) was found in the mouth of the floating dead body, police suspected that the body might have been disposed of in the river after performing the last rites and giving the dagbatti to the dead from some place upstream. Hindus give the dagbatti to the dead and place it on the mouth of the corpse while performing the last rites of a person.
