25 Nov, Gaushala- A motorcycle rider died after being hit by a tractor in Balawa municipality-7 of Mahottari last night. The deceased has been identified as Jaya Kumar Shah,20, of Mahottari rural municipality-5.
The accident took place at around 8:00 pm on Friday night when Shah, who was riding a motorcycle (Ba.24 Pa. 5052), was hit by a tractor coming from the opposite direction at the Padaul-Rauja road. He died on the spot, Superintendent of Police Kuber Kadayat at the District Police Office, Mahottari said.
The tractor overturned and 15 people travelling in its trailer were injured. They are undergoing treatment at Zonal Hospital, Janakpur, police said. The tractor driver escaped following the incident.
