Dec 12, Bhaktapur(RSS): Nepal Workers and Peasants party’s candidates who had contested the December 7 provincial and federal election from Bhaktapur constituency-2, got their deposit seized.
Their sureties were seized as they failed to get at least 10 per cent of the total votes cast, according to the District Election Office. The candidates did not even get 10 per cent votes in the constituency though the district was considered a stronghold of the party.
Anuradha Thapa Magar had contested for federal seat and Saroj Raj Gosai and Premjan Thapa had contested in the provincial seats from the constituency-2 ‘a’ and ‘b’ respectively.
According to the district election office Bhaktapur, as many as 83,930 votes were cast while 64,453 were valid in the constituency. Federal candidate Thapa had garnered only 5,471 votes.
