May 6. The coronavirus death toll in the United Kingdom -has climbed by 693 in the past 24 hours to reach 29,427, the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University. The UK has recorded more than 1.94,990 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the start of the global health crisis.

Now Britain has the second highest official coronavirus death toll in the world, after the US. The total number of fatalities is likely to be much higher than the current official toll.
