Kanchanpur : The sugarcane ranchers in the region are denied government endowments. They have not yet gotten the appropriations due from a year ago.
The public authority has been giving sponsorship to the sugarcane ranchers who offer their sugarcane to the homegrown sugar enterprises. The public authority gives the sponsorship sum consistently to the Depository and Controller Office in the regions where the sugar production lines are working. This sum is then paid to the ranchers. Be that as it may, the sugarcane ranchers in the Kanchanpur area have not been given last year’s appropriations.
Chetan Kumar Rai, the financier of the Council to Safeguard the Freedoms and Interests of Sugarcane Ranchers, said that the sugarcane ranchers in the Kanchanpur region are yet to get sponsorship, adding up to the Rs 320 million that was expected last year.
“The public authority has not delivered the appropriation sum because of the ranchers. The sugarcane ranchers are in issue as they have not yet gotten the exceptional sponsorship,” he said.
The public authority had formed a work strategy in 2018 to make arrangements for giving endowments to sugarcane ranchers. First and foremost, the ranchers were given an endowment at the rate of Rs 65.28 per quintal, and it was expanded to Rs 70 for each quintal from the last monetary year.
Two sugar plants are presently working in the Kanchanpur region: Bhageshwar Sugar Factory at Punarbas and Mahakali Sugar Factory at Belauri. Last year, these two sugar plants bought 2 million, 666 thousand, and 48 quintals of sugarcane from the ranchers.
