3 March, Ilam : The first district convention of Agriculture Workers Association associated to Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) elected a new leadership under the chair of Bishnu Prasad Dulal.
Among the office-bearers elected in the committee are Khem Raj Bhattarai (Vice-Chairperson), Meena Chauhan (Women Vice-Chair), Deependra Dulal (Secretary), Hemmaya Pradhan (Treasurer) and Beena Bhujel (Joint Secretary).
Likewise, the elected members are Tek Bahadur Thapa, Ram Bahadur Adhikari, Laxmi Poudel and Netra Rai.
The convention has nominated Gopal Bhattarai, Rajendra Sharma, Prameela Acharya, Bishnu Prasad Dulal, Pabitra Acharya, Surya Pradhan and Manoj Timsina as the representatives for Trade Union Congress Convention.
Similarly, the convention has nominated Bishnu Prasad Dulal and Deependra Dulal as central general convention representatives.
Trade Union Congress President Hari Phuyal said the Agriculture Workers Association would focus on carrying out advocacy and lobby so that the workers would get their rights and entitlements.
