29 Dec,Myagdi: For the people in Myagdi district to enroll in the health insurance programme, the local authority has started registration process in the district from Wednesday towards this end.
The health insurance scheme aims to assist public to seek medical treatment free of cost or at a lower cost. The scheme largely aids poor citizens’ access to health services.
According to Social Health Security Development Committee Executive Director, Dr Gunaraj Lohani, a family with five members in maximum would avail free treatment upto Rs 50,000 once they deposit Rs 25,000 as an annual insurance premium.
Dr Lohani shared that an additional Rs 425 per head would be charged if the family size exceeds five members. In return, each of them would be entitled to free health services upto Rs 10,000.
The programme first launched in Kailali district on April 7, 2016 has been implemented in other districts such as Baglung and Ilam. It will be expanded in 25 other districts of Far-Western region, informed Dr Lohani. RSS
