10 April, Kathmandu : A 16-day exhibition entitled “The German Energiewende: Transforming Germany’s energy system” is schesduled to take place from April 12 to 26 to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Germany.
The venue for the exhibition is the premises of the Information and Communication Technology Centre, Pulchowk Campus, Lalitpur, to be organised by the German Embassy in Kathmandu. The exhibition will discuss Germany’s economic transformation towards reusable energy sources and challenges involved, and show appreciation for the efforts of the Government of Nepal for creating an environment conducive towards climate friendly energy in the country, said the German Embassy in Kathmandu. It will also be accompanied by a photo story about 60 years of friendship between Nepali and German citizens.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun and Germany’s ambassador to Nepal Roland Schafer are scheduled to address the inaugural ceremony. Entry fees are free where students from schools and campus, professionals working in renewable energy sector, policy makers and academics as well as anyone with interest in latest development in renewable energy are expected to visit.
