30 July, New York: On July 29, the United States reported at least 1,415 new coronavirus deaths and 68,329 new cases. In the past week, there was an average of 65,018 cases per day, a 3% increase from the average two weeks earlier.
According to the New York Times database on Thursday morning, more than 4,435,200 people in the United States have been infected with the coronavirus and at least 151,100 people have died.
The number of cases has increased in most parts of the United States, including many of the early reopened states. Because in many of these places the number of people hospitalized and the percentage of people who test positive is also increasing, the increase in the number of cases cannot be explained by an increase in testing alone. Despite this, deaths from the coronavirus are still well below its peak level. While some places reimpose restrictions, others continue to reopen their economies.
