Oct 14,Kathmandu: Ambassador of Nepal to the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr Ramesh Prasad Khanal, on October 11 presented his Letters of Credence to Dr Joachim Gauck, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, amid a grand ceremony at the Bellevue Palace, the Official Residence of the President of Germany.
After the Credentials presentation ceremony, a brief talk was held between the German President and Mr Khanal that lasted for about 15 minutes, the Embassy of Nepal in Berlin stated in a press release today.
During the talk, attended by the high level officials of the Office of the President and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, the German President expressed happiness to welcome the Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany and stated that the bilateral relations existing between the two countries would be further strengthened during his tenure. He also expressed his best wishes for all the success of the newly appointed Ambassador in discharging of his duties and responsibilities.
In reply, Ambassador Khanal conveyed the message of best wishes of the President of Nepal Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari for good health and happiness of President Gauck as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Germany.
Referring to the continued support of the Federal Republic of Germany in the overall socio-economic development of Nepal, Khanal expressed deep appreciation of people and Government of Nepal for the assistance and cooperation received from the people and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany during the last year’s devastating earthquakes in Nepal.
Mr Bishal Bhattarai, Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission and Ms Kabita Khanal, Attache of the Embassy also attended the Credentials Presentation Ceremony. RSS
