23 Oct,Kathmandu: Joint Students Union this morning drew the attention of Nepali Congress President, Sher Bahadur Deuba, for endorsement of the impeachment motion registered at the Legislature-Parliament against Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Chief, Lokman Singh Karki.
Representatives of 13 different student unions met Deuba at his residence and appealed for immediate passage of the motion for sake of continuing supremacy of justice and the rule of law.
NC President Deuba responded to the memo by expressing his commitment to play his part in making the state and people’s sovereign rights venerable, All Nepal National Free Students Union Secretary, RC Lamichane said.
Deuba confided that he would take the decision based on a mandate following a discussion over the process within the party and the NC Parliamentary Party meeting.
The students are set to hold a demonstration at Baneshwor today as part of a pressure campaign for impeachment of the chief of the anti-graft body. RSS
