May 7. The coronavirus death toll in the United States climbed by 2,528 in the past 24 hours, a tally by Johns Hopkins University, bringing the total number of fatalities to 74,779.
The US, the worst-hit country in the world, now has 12,63 092confirmed cases of coronavirus, up 25,459 from the previous day.
The US has by far the highest death toll of any country in the global pandemic.
