July 4, Hetauda – The new industries in the Hetauda Industrial Estate are faced with a shortage of land for infrastructure construction. Although the Hetauda Industrial Estate Management Office has provided additional land to the new industries, there is still demand for more land in the estate for new industries.
The Office has expanded the industrial estate on additional 290 ropanis land from its earlier area of 3119 ropanis to provide room for the new industries. Office’s officer Rajendra Shrestha said they have not been able to provide land to all the industries seeking land. According to him, 15 new industries have set up and started operating on the additional land.
Only three industries are closed in the industrial estate at present while the rest are in operation. Shrestha said demand has increased for additional land for setting up industries after Hetauda became the capital of State 3 but the Office has not been able to meet this demand.
The Office stated that the problem of shortage of land has been faced for immediately registering and operating new industries. The Office has called for tender of the open space on the eastern side of the industrial estate to address the land shortage. But it will take long.
Additional 30 new industries will come in to operation within the industrial estate in the fiscal year 2018/2019. Fifteen industries have already come into operation in the 260 ropanis land belonging to the Hetauda Textile Industry which is long closed.
