8 adaec, TOKYO- A U.S. military F/A-18 fighter jet crashed into the Pacific Ocean off western Japan on Wednesday, and the condition of the pilot is unclear yet, local media reported, quoting Japanese Defense Ministry officials.
The plane was flying together with another fighter jet in a training area for the U.S. military when it crashed into the sea about 130 km south of the city of Kochi.
The pilot bailed out from the plane, and the Japan Coast Guard has sent a patrol vessel to rescue the pilot.
The Japanese Defense Ministry is looking into the incident through the U.S. military, said local reports. (Xinhua)
