13 March,Kathmandu: A total 538 thousand students are taking the Grade 10 Secondary Education Examination (SEE) this year. The examination will commence from March 16 and conclude on March 27. The examination will take place from 8 am to 11 am.
The students will appear in the examinations under regular, exempted and grade improvement categories.
Known as the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination in the past, it is renamed as SEE Grade 10 from this year. The SLC exam will however be held for Grade 12 following amendment to the Education Act last year.
At a news conference held at the Ministry of Education here on Monday, Education Secretary and Coordinator of the Examination Committee, Shanta Bhaadur Shrestha said that all the preparations necessary for the examination have been completed. He added that coordination has been established with the security-related central bodies for the purpose of arranging security during the examination.
Exam Controller Ambika Prasad Regmi said 1,923 exam centres have been fixed and equal number of exam superintendents assigned for conducting the examination. Similarly, he added that 2,646 assistant superintendents, 22 thousand 461 invigilators, 11 thousand 716 assistants and 28 thousand 846 security personnel have been mobilized for administering the examination. Altogether 67 thousand 591 human resources have been assigned for this purpose.
Regmi said legal action would be taken against the persons involved in improper conduct and irregularities as well as the examination will be cancelled
