Morang- National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said that the people’s representatives should be actively dedicated to the humanitarian development.

Inaugurating the interaction programme on health risk communication and community participation organized by the Ministry of Health and Population here today, he called on the people’s representatives to aware the people about health, education and ways of reducing the child and maternal mortality rate as they have come with the motive of public service.

Chairman Timilsina recalled that Nepal has won accolades in the world for the effective works it carried out in the prevention, control and vaccination regarding COVID-19. He shared that although the risk of COVID-19 has reduced in the present situation, there is much to be done in terms of protecting people’s health.

The Chairman of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament urged the people’s representatives to launch a public awareness campaign for bringing change in the eating habits and lifestyle of the people for a healthy life.

In the context of the upcoming local level elections slated for May 13 this year, he urged the political parties to select candidates to vie in the election based on their capacity.
