24 Sept, New York : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the Nepali Diaspora to continue preserving own language and culture while noting that failure to do so would collapse the identity.

Addressing a reception organized by the Consulate General of Nepal in New York on Saturday to celebrate the National Day of Nepal, Prime Minster Deuba said that the identity of the Nepali citizens living in abroad would be maintained if they continued protecting the language and culture of their own.
The Prime Minister stressed on the need of utilizing knowledge, skills and resources of Nepali Diaspora in the national development.
Lauding the contributions of Nepali citizens in abroad to the country’s national economy through remittance, PM Deuba said, “There are vast potentials of investment and development in Nepal. Be confident to make investment in the country. The government is ready to secure and protect your investments”.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minster and Foreign Minster Krishna Bahadur Mahara highlighted Nepal’s unique and successful peace process and the need to unite for economic prosperity.
Also speaking on the occasion, Consulate-General Madhu Kumar Marasini said that Nepal has recently seen the accomplishment of local level elections under PM Deuba leadership and the country would attain prosperity after political stability following other two tiers of elections in the country.
