Peoples’ aspiration for development on rise: PM Oli



18 Jan, Kathmandu-  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the expectations of the people to accelerate development projects were on rise with the political stability.
Taking questions from MPs in the question-answer session that has started for the first time in line with the provision of the Parliament Regulations in the meeting of the House of Representatives today, PM Oli said that such expectations were normal as people felt change with the establishment of republic democratic system in the country.
He also opined that one and all should be serious on developmental agendas with a high priority.
Lawmaker Krishna Bhakta Pokharel had put the question to the PM on the progress of construction of East-West Railway and connecting Nepal-China through railway. He also had raised the question on upcoming visit of the PM to Switzerland.
Responding these queries of Pokharel, PM said that Nepal was in connection through various channels despite having landlocked and operating ship was in progress with India. He said resources were under search to construct east-west high way.
Indicating to his upcoming visit to Switzerland to begin from January 22 to 25, PM said it will be helpful to draw the attention of the world community to Nepal. The international community will remember Nepal as developed and prosperous Nepal in near future as foundation for the same was preparing by the government. The visit would be centred on economic agendas but other sideline meeting would be held in Davos of Switzerland, PM said.
Similarly, on the question of lawmaker Atharkamal Musalman on how good governance could be achieved through the policy of directly running the projects of over 50 billion without open tender, PM answered no such decision was taken so far.
Similarly responding the query of lawmaker Pradeep Yadav on when the constitution will be amended, the PM said constitution would be amended on need and relevance as it was not a fashion. Prime Minister Oli also stressed on developing various irrigational projects to increase the product.
Lawmaker Chanda Chaudhary had put a question to PM that when the Girish Chandra Lal commission prepared loss report occurred in Tarai-Madhes protest would be released. Responding the question, PM Oli said the report will be released in time.
