31 march, Salyan: Salyan has been facing shortage of anti-rabies vaccine for the past one and a half months.
The government has been providing the anti – rabies vaccine distributed cost-free to the villagers who are now forced to pay high amount at private clinics.
District Hospital Salyan and Sub Health Post Tharmare have been providing the vaccines free of cost. The shortage started since the second week of February, according to District Public Health Office (DPHO).
DPHO Chief, Dr Manish Rawal, said 100 to 200 vaccines are usually used in a month and that the patients are forced to return empty handed these days. He added that the central authorities have been alerted regarding the shortage.
