Gandaki Province Minister Mr. Mitralal Basyal has inaugurated Samsara Ghar, a temporary hostel managed by the Rajendra Anjana Foundation with ARC for Nepal’s support. The hostel focuses on delivering fundamental needs like nutrition, hygiene, and education to children from Dalits, orphanages, and marginalized communities.
Initially housing 13 children, the hostel plans to expand to a capacity of 50 children upon completion of its permanent infrastructure. The three-year construction project, valued at $850 K, will feature a standalone three-story building for administrative purposes, volunteer quarters, and girls’ accommodations, as well as separate facilities for boys’ students, dining, and a 150-seat auditorium. Additional facilities will include:
- A library.
- Cultural heritage center and.
- An organic farm with livestock and fruit cultivation to support the children’s nutritional needs.
Mr. Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, president of the organization, and his brothers made a philanthropic contribution of 21,904 square feet of land, valued at $120K, for the Samsara House building project. Upon completion, this endeavor is anticipated to create employment opportunities for 15-20 local individuals while also catalyzing dynamic growth in local education, culture, economy, and social conditions, as stated by President Shrestha.
Inspired by his father’s legacy, Mr. Shrestha and his spouse have dedicated themselves to philanthropic endeavors for over 25 years, donating more than $150 K through personal contributions and collaborative efforts with the Fair Lawn Sunrise Rotary Club, Fair Lawn, New Jersey, to support the advancement of educational institutions, temples, and sports initiatives.
