21 Oct, Kathmandu- The 33-party alliance and United Rastriya Prajatantra Party (URPP-Nationalist) Friday signed an understanding for the electoral alliance and ultimately for the party unification.
As per the understanding reached between the two sides yesterday, the alliance of 33 fringe political parties is supporting the URPP (Nationalist) in the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies scheduled for November 26 and December 7 in two phases. A plough inside a rectangle is the election symbol of the party.
This is stated in a joint press statement issued yesterday itself. It comprises signatures of alliance Yubraj Safal and URPP(Nationalist) chair Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani.
It may be noted that leader Lohani in last March decided to break away from the reshaped RPP to form a new party under his leadership.
The objective of the alliance is to establish an alternative nationalist force, the statement reads.
