

9 Nov, Bhaktapur-A youth accused for murdering his sweetheart at his house for maintaining a relationship with a third person was arrested on Tuesday.
Police arrested Muktinath Lamichane aka Resham, 19, of Okhreni of Ramechap Municipality – 1 and currently living at Bode area of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality – 2 for killing his girlfriend.
Lamichane killed 23 – year – old Alisa Nepali known by the nickname Santoshi on October 28 by asking her to come over to his house in Bode. Nepali, who hails from Mahankal – 1 of Sindhupalchowk, was living at Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu.
A joint investigation carried out by Metropolitan Crime Investigation Division and Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi indicted that the victim was bludgeoned by a mallet in the head. The police started the investigation after the girl’s decomposing body was found inside a jute sack at a field in Bode.
Lamichane had called Alisa over the phone and the two met at Chabahil. Then both went to Lamichane’s house for a tea where the boy demanded Rs 40,000 he had lent her earlier.
Lamichane then accused Alisa of maintaining a relationship with someone named Shyam Shrestha after which ensued a fierce dispute, investigation revealed. In a fit of rage Lamichane took out the mallet from under the stairs at 12 noon and bludgeoned her to death. RSS
