4 july, Biratnagar – Nepali Congress candidate has been elected the mayor and the CPN (UML) candidate the deputy mayor of Sundar Haraichan Municipality in Morang district in the second phase local level election held on June 28.
Nepali Congress’ mayor candidate Shiva Dhakal got elected to the post by securing 16,829 votes. His closest contender, CPN (UML)’s Kedar Guragain got 15,853 votes.
Similarly, Dhana Tamang of the UML has been elected the deputy mayor with 15,478 votes while her nearest rival Binda Thapa Dahal of the Nepali Congress got 13090 votes, the Office of the Election Officer stated. RSS
