10 Dec, Bhaktapur : CPN (UML)’s Mahesh Basnet representing the left alliance won Bhaktapur 2 seat in Parliament with almost double margin of vote. He received 36,412 votes, while his nearest contender Nepali Congress’s Daman Nath Dhungana 18,687 votes.
Nepal Workers Peasants Party’s Anuradha Thapa Magar is placed in the third position with 5,471 votes.
Likewise, UML’s Shashi Jung Thapa representing the left alliance claimed a Bhaktapur 1 Provincial Assembly seat by defeating his nearest rival NC’s Angat Khadka. Thapa garnered 19,515 votes, while Khadka 9,115 votes.
UML’s Rajendra Man Shrestha representing the left alliance won a Bhaktapur 2 Provincial Assembly seat. He got 14,229 votes, while his nearest rival NC’s Ganesh Man Chakradhar 11,538 votes.
