4 Jan,Kathmandu: A meeting has been held between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Speaker Onsari Gharti at the former’s official residence at Baluwatar in the Capital today morning.
During the meeting, the two discussed host of contemporary issues of the country ranging from the obstruction at parliament, the Supreme Court’s latest verdict regarding the constitution amendment proposal to holding all three levels of elections on time, according to the Speaker’s Press Advisor Babin Sharma.
On the occasion, Speaker Gharti urged PM Dahal to help enable environment for resuming parliamentary business.
The opposition parties, including the major one – CPN(UML) – have been obstructing the parliamentary proceedings in protest of the constitution amendment bill registered by the government at the Legislature-Parliament on November 29, 2016 to accommodate the issues of the dissenting Madhes-centric political parties.
The PM assured Speaker Gharti that he will take initiation beginning from today to forge a consensus among the disgruntled political parties, said Press Advisor Sharma. RSS
